Fellas, lock up your daughters because The Goldenboy is back
to drop some knowledge. You see it’s been a while as I went
away on a nice cruise to Vanuatu with my broad, Amber over
Christmas and recharged those seemingly never ending
batteries of mine. It felt good to reflect and move on from
the travesties of the past two years, but it’s the new
decade now right?
All I seem to hear right now is New Years resolutions and
millions of losers making empty promises to themselves to
breakout of mediocrity. Last year I promised that 2009 was
my year. You can argue with me all you want but I believe
that 2009 was THE year of the Goldenboy. I got paid well.
Flown around the country making suckers famous. Had girls
worldwide begging for my Slaterade. Got rid of deadweight
like AZ Vegara and won the toughest Invitational Tournament
of all time (Forget who’s hand was raised. Video evidence
does not lie).
But New Years resolutions? Who needs them?
See my game plan hasn’t changed in years. I will continue to
be the best and most successful professional wrestler this
country has ever seen, and I don’t need a new year to change
my strategy. For two years I battled the best in the country
in the toughest Invitational Tournaments of all time.
Instead of a payoff at the end, I was spat on. Raped of my
pride. EPW don’t want to reverse poor decisions? Fine! EPW
want to make me fight Davis Storm in a 2/3 Falls match to
see who really is the Invitational Champion and top
contender for a title shot?
Great! I couldn’t be happier.
Did you think I would be running scared from this challenge?
Don’t judge me by the way I do my business. This is the
opportunity I have been PLEADING for. I have a chance to
grasp everything ‘The Ironman’ has done in his career, step
on it, spit on it, and create a legacy of my own. It’s time
for Davis Storm to stop living on his past successes. I was
there at Survival Of The Fittest 2005 when he won
Australia’s first ever 60 minute Ironman match. I was
standing backstage as a 17 year old, full of emotion and
inspired to become the best. Back then I was just called
‘The Future.’ Yet despite being worthless at that point, I
was fully aware of where I would be today…
-The Future Is Now-
I made a decision after that day to leave behind the average
life. I made that decision because I knew in my heart of
hearts that I was more than just some nobody. I fully
intended on knocking the man I envied that night, off his
throne some day. I fully intend on proving this come
February 6th. Davis Storm may be in the best shape he has
been in, in years. But I am in the best shape that any
wrestler in this country has ever been in. If EPW want to
prove who the best athlete in Australia is by making me go
to 3 falls with the best then so be it.
I hope Davis Storm really believes that his New Years
resolution to become EPW Champion again will come true.
Broken hearts motivate me! After February 6th there will be
a new contender on the block. Ladies, form a single line
because after February 6th, my stock in Pro Wrestling is
going way up. Damian Slater is the now and Davis Storm will
be nothing but a memory.
