With
BREAKING POINT just a few days away, it is time for
a match by match breakdown by the man with the inside scoop.
That’s right, it is I, THE INSIDER.
#1 CONTENDERS MATCH
BOBBY MARSHALL v JAMIE JURAH
The Master of the Jurahverse goes toe to toe with Bobby
Marshall for a shot at the chosen one of the Blackest Hour,
and the current EPW champion, Richter. These two fought out
an epic battle last December in Jamie Jurah’s return match
to Explosive Pro Wrestling. He managed to leave with his
hand raised that night but he will face up to an entirely
different beast this Saturday. Since returning from injury,
Bobby Marshall defeated Krackerjak in a hardcore match and
had Richter beaten on several occasions at
Hell or Highwater.
He is in the same filthy mood that made him such a dominant
EPW champion through out 2008 and that does not bode well
for Jurah. Jamie will have to summon every ounce of his
fighting spirit if he hopes to win his way to another title
match. Marshall should win an incredibly hard fought victory
but will have to be mindful that he is only ever one kick
away from losing this match.
INSIDER TIP – BOBBY MARSHALL
INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT SEMI FINALS
DAN MOORE v DAMIAN SLATER
This is the most important singles match of Dan Moore’s
career to this point. We know that he is a fighter and that
he has been a tag team champion. This shows that he has the
qualities to be a success in his own right in the future.
But Damian Slater isn’t the future. He is a potential EPW
champion, NOW. Slater realises that victory in the
tournament will secure him an EPW championship match and a
spot in the upper echelon of this organisation. It would
take a brave man to bet against him getting to the final at
RE-AWAKENING.
INSIDER TIP – DAMIAN SLATER
TYLER JACOBS v JT
For the past nine months, Jay Taylor has been on a
tremendous roll in Explosive Pro Wrestling. His win in last
years Invitational Tournament helped catapult him towards
the main event where he has resided ever since. But his
bubble was burst at Hell or Highwater by the returning Tyler
Jacobs. After a lengthy lay off through injury, ‘Shotgun’
returned to pin JT in ruthless fashion. The veteran has
shown that he can beat Taylor. It is now up to the young
star to find a way to defeat his more experienced opponent.
He will eventually. But not this Saturday.
INSIDER TIP – TYLER JACOBS
DAVIS STORM v SEBASTIAN SANDER
Davis Storm is without a doubt, one of the finest wrestlers
to ever step foot in an EPW ring. He is a former EPW
champion and EPW tag team champion. This time last year he
was building momentum towards a charge at the championship
and was just about unbeatable. But in the past four shows,
the Ironman has lost four or his last five matches. And
while some of those were tag team or three way bouts, he has
had his shoulders pinned to the mat no less than four times.
Sebastian Sander has become a major player waiting to
happen. Team All Star would this and will surely be putting
a plan in place to give their man the biggest victory of his
career. They just might get it done this Saturday.
INSIDER TIP – SEBASTIAN SANDER
DEVLIN REEVES v CHASE GRIFFIN
There can be no doubt that before joining the Blackest Hour,
Devlin Reeves’ career was on the slide. On the other side of
the coin, 2009 has seen Chase Griffin’s career going from
strength to strength. The major question in this match is
how much importance the Blackest Hour place on Reeves and
his win / loss record. They may well be saving their efforts
to keep the EPW championship around Richter’s waist. If
their impact is limited, Griffin should score a big win.
INSIDER TIP – CHASE GRIFFIN
JONATHON WIMBLEDON v JOSE DEL SANTO
Del Santo should be riding high, celebrating a win in an I
QUIT MATCH over his arch rival Michael Morleone. Instead,
Team All Star managed to screw him out of a career defining
victory and caused him a severe head injury in the process.
Despite the injury, he has accepted this match, keen to get
his career back on track. Jonathon Wimbledon scored a rare
victory at Hell or Highwater with the help of his new
associate Chris Vice. My inside sources tell me that Vice is
currently out of the country. If this is true, you can
pencil Del Santo in for the win.
INSIDER TIP – JOSE DEL SANTO
AZ VEGARA v ???????
ALEX KINGSTON / ??????? v TEAM ALL STAR
How does one give an expert opinion when he / she has no
idea who will be in the match? Guessing is for losers.
So there you have it. Tips from the only man with the inside
news, THE INSIDER. See you all at
