It may look like a dingy, dodgey shed in the middle of an
industrial area, but the events that transpire inside EPW's
Dynamite Factory are far from dingy - however, things have
become dodgey on more than one occasion.
If the Wanneroo Community Centre is
our birthplace, and the Wanneroo Pavilion is our home, than the
Dynamite Factory is also a very good place aswell. Let me assure
you, the Factory isn't pretty. It's a small unit, and when you
scatter the full size EPW ring, gym equipment, lounge and tape
viewing area, EPW office, toilet and lockers - their isn't
enough room to swing a cat. Which is good, because we don't
abuse animals at the Dynamite Factory.. we save our energy for
Monday and Wednesday - Trainee night. Some of the most amazing
moments in EPW history have occured inside those corrogated iron
walls. Mikey first perfected the shooting-star there... Jimmy
Payne and Davis Storm have wrestled in several mat classics that
only a small numbers of trainees have experienced and Johnny
Wimbledon became far more intimate with a broomstick than anyone
of us could imagine.
If you look back on it, the EPW
training programme has created some fantastic Australian
wrestlers - some of which have gone on to achieve success not
just here in Perth, but all around Australia. If success in pro
wrestling is measured by the gold you've worn - no graduate
would compare to the current EPW Tag champion - Brad West. Brad
is the Dynamite Factory epitomy of hardwork - Brad will tell you
himself that he wasn't blessed with any natural wrestling gifts,
other than a strong will to succeed. Current EPW trainees can
look up to West as a role model, because he's worked hard,
respected everyone and gone on to become one of the best pure
wrestlers this country has. Although winning the EPW
Invitational tournament, and being one half of the EPW tag
champions is surely enough to cemete this, nothing showed Brad
West's class, ability and desire more than the second night of
Evolution 2004. Perhaps a wrestler can be measured by the class
of wrestler he competes with - and on that night he stood in the
same ring as Jag, Havok and current EPW Champion Davis Storm.
West is currently recovering from injuries sustained at the
hands of the Genetically Superior Team, but if his past
resiliance is anything to go by, it isn't going to be very long
before Brad's back in action Rad-Driving, Tornado DDTing and
Bulldoggy-dogging his way back to the top of Explosive Pro
Wrestling.
And speaking of G.S.T. - all
three members of the taskforce are graduates of the Dynamite
Factory. I think CJL and BBB are a weird pairing. I look at
Bobby Bad Blood as a big red fire engire chugging about, with
Chris Lazareth that little itty bitty fire truck just trying to
keep up. And Michelle, well... after all of the punishment she's
taken from the team, I'm surprised she wants to hang around
them. But, I suppose if punishment is the name of the game,
being forced to spend time with G.S.T. ranks up there pretty
highly. Interestingly enough, Bobby BadBlood probably trains
harder than many of the EPW roster - but he's dumb - so perhaps
they cancel each other out.
In professional wrestling you
have the master technicians, the athletes that can get inside
your head and mess with your mind before you've even stepped
through the curtain. They are masters of wrestling psychology,
with their ability to play mind games gives them an advantage
long before the bell is rung. They spend hours at a time
perfecting this art, thinking over the game plan that would lead
to a certain victory - they are the deep thinkers of the art of
professional wrestling. And then, you have Shane and Kiel. This
unlikely team have flipped, danced and cartwheeled their way
into the hearts of Perth wrestling fans with their unique blend
of solid mat ability, high risk manuevers and completely
uncontrollable tomfoolery. Shane Haste and Kiel E. Lectrifying
were both a part of the very first EPW two-day training course,
and were just as random back then as they were now. Shane's
worked hard to compile an arsenel of innovative and
unpredictable moves that few in Australian wrestling could
compare. Kiel's worked as equally hard on his cartwheels and
hair-flicking and we have all seen how good he is at those.
Paying out on Kiel E. Lectrifying could be one of the most
self-rewarding hobbies I have outside of wrestling, but truth be
told, I am very proud of him, and believe he is the most
improved wrestler on our roster. Now enough of the lovefest,
let's get back to making myself feel like a big man. Outside of
the ring, Kiel and Shane are a pair of clownshoes - but inside
the ring, they are a pair of clownshoes that can wrestle. It's
fair to say that of all the tag teams competing in Explosive Pro
Wrestling at the moment, Shane and Kiel can definitely jump the
highest.
The entire point of this Trash
Talking was to give you a little insight into the happenings
inside the Dynamite Factory, and into the amazing athletes that
have graduated from it's courses. Regardless of what the
differents paths that some of the Dynamite Factory graduates
have taken, they have all achieved success in the world of
professional wrestling because they have worked hard, stuck to
it and respected the guidance of the senior members of EPW.
Realistically, if you want to
become a professional wrestler, you need to call 0411 570 021
and discuss joining the Dynamite Factory's training course.
C'mon Colonel Sanders, I'm still waiting. |
