The
programmes for Animosity said that no match personified this events name more than
this bout. And that proved to be true. Mikey came out like a house on fire. He came
through the back of the crowd and attacked his former partner. Mikey continued to beat
Azazal around ringside before the match finally returned to the ring. Azazal started to
find his feet but he didnt find them for long as Mikey continued his brutal assault.
Neither man seemed to be looking to win the match early on, with both happy to pummel the
other for as long as it took to wear them down. An Azazal Alpha-Bomb had Mikey reeling for
a two count but Mikey managed to fight back. However, when Mikey missed the shooting star
press, Azazal assumed total control of the match. He worked over Mikeys neck with
ruthless abandon. A pumphandle SOS sent Mikey crashing to the floor but there was no
respite from Azazals vicious attack. Mikey tried to battle back but it was short
lived and he soon found himself trapped in the dragon clutch. After reaching the ropes,
Mikey managed to hit a desperation enziguiri. Azazal resorted to a low blow before hitting
the Fallen Angel. But Mikey would not lie down and he managed to kick out at
two. A SuperKick got Mikey a two count, as did a flawless split legged moonsault. Azazal
sought refuge on the floor but wound up tasting an asai moonsault. As the battle returned
to the ring, Azazal reversed a sunset bomb attempt and hit the Fallen Angel
for a second time. This time Mikey could not kick out.
The
intensity of this match showed on the faces of both men after the bout. Although Mikey was
beaten, he was not disgraced. Azazal will now have bragging rights as the last memories of
the Uprising disappear into history.
