The
Vagrant came out firing, as he looked for revenge on Cartel for the attack on his friend,
Jimmy Payne, at Out of the Ashes. His early flurry had Cartel seeking refuge on the floor
but he didn’t get to rest for long before ‘The People’s Tramp came out
after him.
The
Vagrant’s enthusiasm was his undoing. Tommy caught his attempt at a pescada and ran
him back first into the steel ringpost. From that point on, Tommy controlled the bout with
ruthless efficiency. His backbreakers and bearhugs were used to try and wear The Vagrant
down. But he continued to fight. He caught a big break when Cartel missed with one of his
trademark big rights and smashed his hand into the cornerpost. The ‘Homeless
Hero’ then went about attacking the injured hand. Cartel’s hand was damaged to
the point where he could not catch Xeriyous Blade’s cane when it was thrown to him.
The Vagrant picked up the object. But, instead of using it on Cartel, he sent Blade flying
off the apron. That distraction was all Cartel needed and he hit a blue thunder before
locking on his reverse cloverleaf for the submission victory.
