This match saw the debut of AZ Vegara
on a main EPW show. Both men went at it fast and furious from the
opening bell. Vegara showed that he is well schooled in technical
wrestling, as he kept Street on the back foot with repeated pin
attempts. Steets’s experience started to tell as he took control of
the match with a well delivered leg sweep.
He stayed in control until late in the
match, where AZ made a comeback. He drilled James with a great
jumping neckbreaker before heading up to the top rope. He leapt off
the top but was caught short with a thunderous sitout spinebuster. 3
seconds later James Street had his first victory in EPW. He tried to
embarrass AZ but was stripped down to his jocks instead. Although he
lost it was an impressive first up display from AZ Vegara.
