Jimmy
Payne challenged Tommy Cartel to face a mystery opponent on Night 1 of Evolution 2004. If
Cartel did that, Jimmy promised to return on Night 2 to confront Tommy.
That
mystery opponent turned out to be Davis Storm who quickly rushed the ring and took over on
Cartel. It took Cartel several minutes to settle himself as Storm took full advantage.
Cartel was finally able to catch Storm off a bodypress and plant him with a front slam. It
was all Cartel from there on as he was able to slow the pace down and work over
Storm’s back. Davis finally managed a comeback and almost put Cartel away with a huge
DDT. Storm was caught seconds later with a huge blue thunder, and soon found himself
locked in Cartel’s reverse cloverleaf. It would have been all over for Storm had
Jimmy Payne’s entrance music not played. Cartel let go of Davis to confront ‘Mr
Anarchy’ Unfortunately for him, Jimmy never entered and Cartel was rolled up for the
3 count and his first loss in EPW.
