This match had been 18 months in the
making for Davis Storm. He had never received a rematch after losing
the title in November of 2002. For FN Carnage, the match was about
defeating a man he had never overcome.
The match started out at a slow pace with both men trying to gain
the psychological edge but neither man would budge. Carnage fired
the first real shot by gorilla pressing Storm to the outside. Davis
was able to reassert himself quickly and drilled Carnage with a
slingshot legdrop. He managed to control the pace before nailing
Carnage with his finsher, the Eye of the Storm.
The champ would not lie down and
managed to get a shoulder up at two. Storm looked frustrated but not
surprised, as he seemed set for a long night trying to take Carnage
down. Another trip to the outside resulted in more pain for Storm as
Carnage hit a massive Yakuza Kick on the apron.
Carnage almost had Storm tapping on two separate occasions but the
STF couldn’t finish the job. One last trip to the outside ended
better for Storm. But not for one of our EPW security staff. The
challenger smashed the staff member’s face in with a thunderous
Yakuza kick in the crowd. He followed up with a massive tope’ from
the ring into the crowd and onto Carnage.
Carnage fought back with a tornado snap
suplex off the apron to the floor. Both men went beserk in the last
five minutes with both men hitting the Eye of the Storm for very
close near falls. The champ seemed to be closing in on his long
awaited victory after three consecutive german suplexes. But it was
not to be. He ran straight into a Yakuza Kick for the pin that would
crown a new EPW champion.
Wrestlers poured from the back to
applaud the new champ. One of those wrestlers was Mikey. The #1
contender entered the ring and stuffed the belt into Storm’s waist.
The two had a confrontation that ended with Storm slapping Mikey in
the face. Mikey then knocked the champ off his feet with one punch
before wrestlers separated the two men. Re-Awakening is still quite
a distance away but is already shaping up to be one of the hottest
events we have ever had.
