| This match had been two years in the making. If Team EPW won, they would
take back control of EPW from The Uprising. But if The Uprising won, then Davis Storm
would have to join them. The match started with 2 members of each team handcuffed to the
ringposts. A person would be released from the handcuffs every 2 minutes until everyone
had been released. Mikey and
Storm started the match off in brutal style hammering each other with hard chops and
forearms. Azazal joined the match but was quickly disposed of as Jimmy Payne and The
Vagrant took turns belting him on the outside. Storm stayed in control until Xeriyous
Blade was released and he found himself in a three on one situation.
They pounded Storm until Blade was pulled from the
ring by Payne. Mikey was about to nail Storm with a chair when the Vagrant was released.
He and Storm laid out Azazal and Mikey but again the numbers were too much as Blade
returned to the battle. Jimmy was ready to be realeased until referee for hire Brett
Corvus stole the key from the official referee Dan the Beast. Dancin Lukey planted Corvus
with a clothesline and Jimmy quickly asserted himself in the match. He dominated all three
members of The Uprising and they quickly fled the ring. Team EPW chased them and the fight
re-commenced on the floor. Mikey and Storm brawled through the crowd after Storm leapt the
guardrail to clothesline Mikey. Blade and The Vagrant beat on each other with various
weapons and Payne was destroying Azazal at ringside.
When the action returned to the ring, it wasnt
long before the first table was introduced to the proceedings. The Uprising tried on three
occasions to plant members of Team EPW thru tables but were unsuccessful. Storm them
landed a huge crossbody from the ring to the floor before Mikey smashed Payne and The
Vagrant with harsh chair shots. Storm was then powerbombed off the second rope thru a
waiting table.
Luckily for Team EPW, the pinfall was broken up by
the Vagrant, but the match was just getting started. Blade gave the Vagrant a taste of a
chair with a scissors kick and a Russian legsweep. Mikey then tried to put Jimmy thru
three chairs, but wound up being ocean suplexed right thru them. A gator breaker onto two
chairs saw Jimmy Paynes back just about break in two.
The Uprising went to the well one too many times and
Mikey and Azazal both wound up on the receiving end of some brutal chair punishment. It
looked as if Team EPW was starting to re-assert themselves, when suddenly, Storm and The
Vagrant were both laid out by The Uprising. Jimmy fought valiantly but was blasted through
a table by a Mikey top rope legdrop.
Before a pinfall could take place, former Uprising
member, Richter came down to ringside and chokeslammed his former team mates to oblivion.
Team EPW then hit their finishers simultaneously for a dangerously close near fall. The
Uprising responded by nailing Storm with a superkick and a fallen angel that bought them a
2 count.
A 5 man superplex just about took the whole match out
in one go. Mikey managed to get to his feet to hit the Vagrant with a whiplash. He then
hit an absolutely breathtaking top rope shooting star press.
Shiggins tried to interject himself into the match
but was met (as always) by a nasty Mikey chair shot. But redemption was mere seconds away,
as Mikey was drilled with a truly inhuman chair shot by Storm.
Azazal quickly pounced on Storm before attempting a
top rope move. The Vagrant cut him off and sent him crashing to the floor through two more
tables. Mikey hit Storm with the sunset bomb for a two count, before also being pushed off
the top rope by the Vagrant. He set Mikey up on the commentary table as Storm came sailing
over the top rope with a tope con hilo to send Mikey and himself through the table. Blade
was gored by Jimmy Payne into ANOTHER table. The Peoples Tramp then brought a ladder
into the ring to finish the war once and for all. He climbed to the top and leapt off to
splash Azazal through one last table for a three count that saw the end of the most
amazing match EPW has ever seen.
The after match celebration was emotional as all the
members of EPW poured into the ring to congratulate the warriors that they sent to battle
for them.
What does next year hold in store for EPW? And have
we heard the last of The Uprising?
Only time will tell. |
