This match was action packed from start
to finish. To win, you simply had to be the last team standing. You
could be eliminated if either member of your team was put through a
table. It started with all 8 men in the ring brawling with the
champions assuming control.
Awsome Inc dosey doed their way in front of GST but could not take
to the air with the Brat Pack happy to spoil the party.
This match was highlighted by the
superb double team work of Awsome Inc and the Serial Thrillers.
BobbyBadBlood seemed to have alittle trouble understanding the
concept of the match as he tried to pin Shane Haste after a massive
chokeslam.
The Serial Thriller continued to dominate the Brat Pack but they
could not drive anyone through the tables. Every time they tried to
bring a table into the ring they were cut off.
CJL was none to happy about BBB gorilla
pressing him onto the Thrillers who were on the floor. He was even
unhappier when Bobby accidentally axhandled him seconds later.
Shane Haste took to the air with what has to be the most stunning
dive ever seen in EPW. Finally, the Thrillers were able to get the
tables into the match. But once they did, we saw the introduction of
not one, but 5 tables.
This was a high risk situation where just one mistake could lead to
defeat. Kiel was first to taste the wood as he attempted to
moonsault Justin Sane through a table. Sane moved and Kiel went
crashing though a table.
Shane and Bobby tried to pick up the
pace to help their respective teams and Haste almost broke BBB’s
neck with an amazing somersault DDT. He then went for a dive but
wound up being backdropped to the floor through two tables. Awsome
Inc were out of the match but Kiel E wasn’t finished yet as he
landed on CJL and Devlin Reeves with a springboard swanton to the
floor.
The action continued as Justin Sane smashed Jamie Jurah (and
himself) through a table on the floor with a flatliner off the
second rope. This eliminated the Brat Pack but Sane was also badly
injured and was helped to the backstage area. Brad West went to
check on his partner and the referees ruled that if the titles would
go to GST if the Thrillers could not continue. That brought West
roaring from the back as he took the fight to both members of GST.
Finally, the 2 on 1 advantage paid off as BB put West by stealing
one of Brad’s own moves, the michinoku driver. That brought a semi
conscious Justin Sane back into the match as he gave everything he
had left to prevent his team from losing.
Michelle took this chance to interject herself into the match by low
blowing one of the referees. This left only corrupt ref, Brett
Corvus, in charge.
Brad West drilled BBB with a tornado
DDT off the top rope through a table This should have spelt victory
for the champs but Corvus would not call for the bell. CJL then hit
Brad from behind with the tag team belt. Brad fell in between the
remnants of the table just as the other referee recovered. He then
called for the bell and declared GST the new tag team champions. The
Thrillers and Davis Storm protested with both Jack Burbank and the
referees for the match. But they fell of deaf ears and at the end of
the day, the most important story was that GST won the match and the
tag team titles.
