| 11/12/03 - Supershow Recap |
The Australian Wrestling SuperShow was
born from the idea of the best wrestlers in Australia gathering to combine their efforts
for an event. The concept was thought of by Andy Raymond, who runs AJ Promotions, a sports
memorabilia company. Last years SuperShow was a great success and was even broadcast
on FoxSports. It featured wrestlers from federations based in most states in Australia.
One state that did miss out was Western Australia. But not this year. Explosive Pro
Wrestling was invited by Andy Raymond to participate in this years Australian
Wrestling SuperShow and EPW was more than happy to be involved in any capacity.
The two wrestlers to be invited were Davis Storm and the EPW champion FN Carnage. Many
other EPW wrestlers, personalities and staff attended the event including Slick Rick
Sanders, Psychofett, the Vagrant, Uprising members Azazal and Mikey and Nicolas Hart.
The Vagrant was also fortunate enough to wrestle for the UWA while in New South Wales. He
took on one of Australias hottest young wrestlers in Will Phoenix. Many UWA staff
and wrestlers had many kind words for his effort in this match.
The SuperShow was an amazing event with every wrestler in every match giving their all. To
quickly recap the results:
Angus McCloud def Stephan Cool
UWA Tag Team Champions Crude def Jag and Havok
Mr Big Time John Simmons def Chief Kala Levi
Cremator won the Great Aussie Pub Brawl by pinning FN Carnage
Madison def Miss Fit
UWA champion Scarecrow def Lee Starr, Will Phoenix and Devlin DeSkyes
Lobo def Spike Steele in a ladder match
Rob Matrix def Billy Cole and Mark Mercedes to win the IWA heavyweight title
Carnage and Storm featured heavily in the pub brawl with Carnage even busting Cremator
open before the big man extracted his revenge by pinning Carnage. There were too many
amazing efforts on the day but special mention must go to Spike Steele and Lobo who put on
an amazing display of brutality in their ladder match. This was truly a case of both men
leaving every bit of energy, passion and guts they had in the ring. Both men should be
extremely proud of themselves, as should all involved with the SuperShow.
Hopefully, it will be broadcast on TV sometime in the near future so that Perth wrestling
fans will get the chance to see great wrestling from all around the country. Special
thanks to Andy Raymond for involving EPW in this huge night.
