18/12/03 - Buck Hur Recap
Buck Hur was the event tipped to be “Bigger than Ben Hur”. While there wasn’t a great attendance on the night, the crowd was certainly ready for some great wrestling action and they weren’t let down. This is a brief description of the matches and the highlights of the night.

The Brat Pack & Tommy Cartel def Psychofett, Devlin Reeves & The Vagrant

Cartel was the X factor in this match as he had never wrestled in a normal match before. His only previous EPW appearance was at Re-Awakening in the Royal Rumble match.

The action was fast paced with Carnage and Cartel controlling a lot of the action with brute strength. Just when the Vagrant had Cartel in a vulnerable position, Slick Rick nailed him in the head with Carnage’s EPW Title. Cartel then put his reverse cloverleaf on the Vagrant and the referee counted him out.

Mikey def BobbyBadBlood

This was clearly the match of the night. Two of EPW’s biggest but most athletic wrestlers went at it in this match. BBB put up an impressive effort here. He hit some high impact moves including the return of the running suplex. But the offense of the ‘Rising Star’ was too much for BBB to handle. An awesome sunset bomb put Bobby to rest for the 1-2-3.

Gauntlet Match
This is a match that has never been held before in EPW. In this match, two men start in the ring. After they wrestle to a finish the winner stays on and the next man enters.

Davis Storm def Jimmy Payne
Probably a wrestling highlight of the night. The two former EPW champions put forward a short but impressive display of wrestling. Storm eventually finished off ‘Mr Anarchy’ with a Yakuza kick and an Eye of the Storm.

Brad West def Davis Storm
Storm’s next opponent was the newly crowned Invitational champion, Brad West. Storm dominated early on but made the mistake of going for a top rope move. West cut him off and hit a Michinoku driver for the win.

Brad West def Brock Freeman
Freeman was at his cocky and athletic best in this match. He managed to stay on top for alot of the bout before falling victim to another michinoku driver.

Brad West def Justin Sane
These tag partners were at their sneaky best as they attempted to sneak a victory from each other. Sane started out with a poke to the eye but reverted to more conventional wrestling by hitting Brad with a flatliner. Brad reversed one of Justin’s moves and rolled him up by holding the tights. Justin smiled and acknowledged that he had been outsmarted.

Azazal def Brad West
Even though everyone else seemed to be enjoying the night, Azazal carried his usual demeanor to the ring. Brad fought bravely but was too tired after three previous matches and was pinned after a Fallen Angel.

BATTLE ROYAL

Everyone returned for one last match. An EPW Battle Royal with a twist. Pinfalls and submissions counted. There were bodies flying left, right and center. Devlin was first to go after a 68 driver from the Brat Pack. Tommy Cartel lost after every man in the ring stacked on top of him for the pin. Jamie Jurah had his groin rammed into BobbyBadBlood’s face before tapping out to a Jimmy Payne crossface. The bodies continued to fly until only Mikey, Storm, Payne, Azazal and the Vagrant were left in the ring. Mikey and Azazal executed a superduperplex on Davis Storm before Azazal and Jimmy were eliminated back to back. Storm dove onto both of them with a tope. The Vagrant then dumped Mikey onto the apron and knocked him to the floor with his shoe.

Winner: The Vagrant

A fun night was had by all, especially Slick Rick and Dancin’ Lukey who may have set a new world record for the most expletives in the commentary of a wrestling event held at a theme park. Thanks to all who attended and we hope to have a chance to wrestle in this environment again in the future.
