| 15/01/04 - Black Friday Announced |
Superstitious?? Many things are supposed to
bring bad luck. Ever broken a mirror? Crossed paths with a black cat? Stepped under a
ladder?
Well Friday the 13th is supposed to be as bad luck as any of those. And it certainly may
turn out to be that way for Davis Storm.
Explosive Pro Wrestling proudly presents BLACK FRIDAY. This is EPWs second event for
the year and is looking as if it will be one to remember. It will take place at the
Margaret Cockman Pavilion (on the Wanneroo Showgrounds) on Friday the 13th of February
2004.
It looks like it will be an action packed night. The main event will see the Slick Rick
Challenge return for 2004. If you all recall, last years Slick Rick Challenge involved
Davis Storm and Jimmy Payne taking on two of the best wrestlers in Australia, Jag and
Havok. Jag and Havok nearly destroyed the two EPW wrestlers in and after that match. This
year sees Jag returning yet again to do Slick Ricks bidding. If Davis Storm wins the
match he will become the #1 contender to the EPW Title, currently held by FN Carnage.
Storm will be desperate to avenge his loss from last year and earn a chance to regain the
EPW title. But it may take a small miracle for him to get through the Extreme
Highflier.
Another match that has just been announced will be a 6-man tag team elimination match. And
what tag team match would be complete without the EPW Tag Team champions. The newly
crowned tag team champions, the Serial Thrillers will team up with Mr. 3-D Cow, Shane
Haste. Their opponents will be the Genetically Superior Team (G.S.T.), of BobbyBadBlood
and Chris Lazareth, and The American Nightmare Brock Freeman. Haste and
Freeman will be looking to tear each other apart with their feud having no end in sight.
And a win for GST over the tag team champions would put them in line for a tag team title
shot in the near future. It should be an exciting contest for sure.
And in a match that has everyone here scratching their heads, Slick Rick has requested
that Jamie Jurah do battle with Mikey. While the Uprising has generally been on good terms
with the Brat Pack, Mikey has said that he will not refuse any challenge. The highflying
genius of Mikey up against the no-frills mat work of Jamie Jurah. Should be an intriguing
matchup.
So with three huge matches already announced, BLACK FRIDAY is shaping up to be an event
not to miss. General tickets are $13.50 with children under 12 being $6 if you pre-order.
Tickets on the door are at a cost of $16.50 and $9 for children under 12. A family pass (2
