31/03/04 - Evolution 2004

Evolution 2004

The Evolution shows from 2002 and 2003 have set a standard that would prove tough for us to live up to. Evolution 2002 saw Davis Storm defeat Jimmy Payne in a heated main event to become the very first EPW champion. Evolution 2003 saw an eight-team tournament take place over two nights to crown the very first EPW tag team champions. The final saw the Brat Pack defeat Davis Storm and Jimmy Payne in what was one of the matches of the year.

So this year we were set the challenge of how to top the phenomenal Event of the Year from 2003 (That being Evolution 2003, of course). But we didn’t stop at trying to rival the previous Evolutions. We have put together an event that may rival the best events held in EPW history.

For the first time ever, an EPW event will feature 4 wrestlers who are based in 2 other states. Wrestlers from NWA Australia (www.nwaaustralia.com) in Adelaide and PWA(www.pwa-australia.com) from Melbourne will be here in Perth for the biggest Evolution in EPW history.

From Melbourne, Australian wrestling icon, Lobo will be heading to Perth to challenge for the EPW Heavyweight title. He will face FN Carnage for the title in the main event of Night 2 of Evolution. Lobo has been in countless brutal matches in the past including his amazing ladder match with Spike Steel at the second Australian Wrestling Supershow. This match promises to be a spectacle, the likes of which, have never been seen before in Explosive Pro Wrestling.

Also making the journey from Melbourne will be Rave. EPW officials have no idea what Rave’s intentions are at this stage but he has informed them that he will be present at Evolution.

And making their return to EPW will be Adelaide’s finest, in Jag and Havok. These two have made live miserable for EPW wrestlers on their previous two trips to Perth and are set to do the same once again. As you may remember, Jag and Havok beat Davis Storm and Jimmy Payne in a classic tag team match in January 2003. Jag then returned just two months ago to defeat Davis Storm in a match would be considered an early candidate for match of the year. The two men from South Australia are coming to do the bidding of their employer Slick Rick Sanders.

This event is going to be HUGE. Re-Awakening is always the EPW event not to be missed each year. Well add Evolution to that list for 2004. We have never before seen 4 interstate wrestlers appearing on one EPW show.
