21/08/04 - Vendetta Updates

Vendetta

After the shocking change of course, it’s now full steam ahead towards VENDETTA. VENDETTA will be the last step down the path that leads us to RE-AWAKENING, the showcase event of Explosive Pro Wrestling. Let’s take a quick look at the matches that have already been announced for VENDETTA.

The main event of VENDETTA will be a grudge match of epic proportions. Mikey will tackle Azazal in EPW’s first ever CHAIN MATCH. Both men will be connected to each other by a length of chain. This means that there is no escape for either individual. The chain can be used in any manner that the two men wish to use it. There are no count outs or disqualifications so the match can only end by pinfall or submission. This match should redefine brutal as this issue is settled once and for all.

We also know that a six man match will be held at VENDETTA to decide the last three semi finalists for the EPW Invitational tournament to be held at RE-AWAKENING. Dancin Lukey has already announced that the fourth and final spot has been given to Australian wrestling superstar, Spike Steele. Now the format for this match will be unlike any other match held in EPW previously.

The match will be a six man EPW elimination match. The match will take place like a regular match with two wrestlers starting the battle. The other four wrestlers will take a spot on the ring apron in each of the four corners. Any wrestlers may be tagged in at any stage. If a wrestler can score a pinfall or submission on any of his opponents, he will automatically qualify for the semi finals and must leave the match. The wrestler who is pinned or submitted is eliminated from the match and the tournament. Eventually we will be left with two wrestlers battling over the last position in the tournament. It certainly is an interesting way to decide the qualifying for the EPW Invitational.

This tournament has acted as a springboard to success for all of its previous winners. The winner of the tournament gets a guaranteed title shot in 2005. All the men involved will be desperate to qualify to get a shot at the title next year.

We can also announce that after Chris Lazareth’s controversial win at COLLISION COURSE, GST has secured a tag team title shot at VENDETTA. The tag team champions, the Serial Thrillers, will be looking for revenge on GST after they were both viciously assaulted at Hell or Highwater. Brad West’s arm was targeted and he has been on the shelf ever since. The Thrillers will be looking to avenge their DQ loss to GST earlier this year. GST are hungry for the titles and with the tag division heating up this could be their last chance to go for the gold for some time.
