It will be a Perth wrestling
first that is certain to tear the roof off Mayland's Venville
Rec Centre. It will make Explosive Pro Wrestling's Re-Awakening
2005 one of the most memorable nights in our history.
A feud that has been fought both inside and outside of the
squared circle. Former EPW Champion, FN Carnage, will step into
a steel cage with his year long nemesis, the Fallen Angel -
Azazal.
Azazal's motive for initially targeting FN Carnage remains a
mystery. But his hatred towards the EPW veteran brews from his
embarrassment at Carnage’s hands. Azazal was on the wrong side
of a referee's three count earlier in the year in a bout with
Carnage and made it his aim to avenge his defeat at any cost. It
was this unbridled desire for revenge which became his eventual
downfall. In hastily accepting a return match with Carnage,
Azazal forgot to read the fine print on the contact. It stated
if Azazal lost the match, he would be banned from Explosive Pro
Wrestling and could only return at the mercy of the man who
defeated him. He lost that night and his future was now in the
hands of the man despised in defeat.
Yet again the embarrassment continued with Azazal being forced
by Carnage to sweep the ring at intermission. Fans who have
endured the verbal tirade of the Fallen Angel for years,
responded with teasing of their own. Fans also saw the
disgruntled face of the former EPW chairman as they entered the
Venville Rec Centre earlier this year as Carnage had ordered
Azazal to rip the tickets and return the stubs with a smile to
EPW supporters. Many fans chuckled as the foulest mouth in EPW
history was hoping they would "...enjoy the show tonight."
But the final nail in the embarrassment coffin came as FN
Carnage ordered the ‘Fallen Angel’ to the ring and demanded he
sing the Australian national anthem to the crowd. Carnage
demanded Azazal not only sing the anthem, but do a damn fine job
of it too. Explosive Pro Wrestling has seen alot of things, but
an entire crowd standing, hand over heart to Azazal singing the
national anthem ranks up there as the most unlikely. And just
quietly, had Mark Holden bought a ticket, a touchdown would've
surely ensued.
The blood of Azazal was boiling until Carnage allowed him the
chance to return to the EPW roster if the former Champion was
defeated by an opponent of the Fallen Angel's choosing. An
entire country of wrestlers were at the choosing and Azazal
hand-picked the most lethal - South Australia's Master of Mayhem
- Havok. FN Carnage ordered that the match allow the usage of
weapons. And in a bout that saw tables broken, trash cans swung
and bodies slamming into hardened floor, Havok emerged
victorious and Azazal was returned to the active EPW roster.
His celebration was short lived as 'Gentleman' Jack Burbank
informed the crowd that FN Carnage had slid him a pre-written
statement prior to the match. Carnage was still in control of
Azazal's career at that point and stated that if he was defeated
at Dirty Deeds, Azazal could indeed return to an EPW ring... to
face Carnage at Re-Awakening inside a steel cage!!
The fans erupted as a shocked Azazal gulped at ringside. No
cheap shots, no interference and no escape. Will Carnage end the
career of Azazal once and for all? Or will the ‘Fallen Angel’
escape the cage, and his destiny, and reclaim his future? FN
Carnage will finally get his hands on Azazal in a match that is
certain to be added to the already growing list of Re-Awakening
moments.
