09/11/05 - GST's Golden Opportunity

Re-Awakening 2005

In 2005, Davis Storm has made it no secret of his disdain for the young stars on the EPW roster. What wasn’t known at first was how much support Storm would be able to generate with his thoughts. Soon, common ground was found with former EPW Champion Jimmy Payne and his new manager Xeriyous Blade.

This appeared to be an allegiance of convenience but mid way through 2005 it became increasingly clear that more thought and planning had gone into this movement than first thought. All four stalwarts of Perth wrestling had a clear goal Gain the respect of the young stars of EPW, or beat it into them. Casualties began with AZ Vegara who declined to carry Storm and Payne's bags into the arena, and GST valet Michelle was put on the shelf after a brutal Kryptonite Krunch from.

As the 'originals' movement continued, Nate Dooley confronted Davis Storm and demanded he stop his despicable crusade. He drew on a battle they waged side-by-side in 2003 against the Uprising. His comments fell on deaf ears and it appeared as if battle lines had been drawn and Dooley was supporting the young lions of this federation.

BobbyBadBlood saved Nate from a beating that night but the ForeFathers seemed to have both GST and Dooley in their sights. The EPW union of Nate Dooley and BobbyBadBlood stood side by side, defiant in the ring.

That was the same night that Chris J Lazareth broke his foot in a heroic title defense against Awsome Inc. It was in a hospital bed recovering that Lazareth was met by Davis Storm and after a verbal assault of the injured champion, Storm stole his tag team title and paraded the belt as if it was his own.

Attempting to avenge his injured partner, Bobby Bad Blood fought Davis Storm at Cause for Concern with Nate Dooley as the special guest referee. The tide swung when a returning Chris Lazareth slammed his crutches into the gut of Storm and Bobby gained a huge upset win.

BadBlood and Lazareth were still out for revenge and offered a challenge to Davis Storm and a partner of his choosing. Furious with the interference that had backfired, the Forefathers called for Jimmy Payne's inclusion as ringside enforcer in the match. This was thwarted as Nate Dooley was named ringside enforcer for GST. And as 'Deeds' rolled around, several questions remained. Who would be Storm's mystery partner and would Lazareth be able to wrestle given he had only had his cast removed days earlier?

Storm began Dirty Deeds with a verbal confrontation with 'Gentleman' Jack Burbank telling him that if EPW icon 'The Vagrant' turned up tonight, it would be the very last time you'd see him in a Perth wrestling ring. And how true his words were...

Fans were delighted to see the return of the People's Tramp as Nate Dooley entered the arena with filthy jacket and tea cosy to boot. It seemed as if the Vagrant had returned to confront the ForeFathers. Little did we know he was there to join them not destroy them. Over three months, Dooley had watched GST’s back and appeared to be an ally. They left themselves open to a sneak attack from the one man they trusted - Nate Dooley.

Dooley smashed the belt over Bobby Bad Blood's head and buckled Lazareth with a low blow before tearing his tattered EPW t-shirt to reveal his original Explosive Coastal Wrestling shirt. Fans were shocked to see Dooley was Storm's actual secret partner and after a Kryptonite Krunch in the middle of the ring, Dooley pinned a hapless CJL to steal the belts.

The Forefathers of Explosive Coastal Wrestling had formed with a final piece to the puzzle that no-one saw coming. Dooley trashed the young "rookies" of EPW, saying that they had stolen the Forefather's spotlight and without ECW, they wouldn't be wrestling today. The newlook Forefathers left the ring with tag gold in hand as the Genetically Superior Team rose to a standing ovation from the EPW.

Bobby Bad Blood needed to say only one word to the entire crowd and they erupted in unison... Revenge? Rematch? Respect?.... No.... "Re-Awakening!"

But are GST just blindly walking into another ForeFather’s trap? Their aggression will need to be channelled and focused or else they will not stand a chance to regain the one thing they care about most. The EPW tag team titles.
