EPW officials were today notified by Mikey, that he would be
returning to the New Japan dojo in Los Angeles. Mikey has
confirmed that he will honour his commitments at Evolution
before departing. He is scheduled to fly out some time soon
after Evolution.
His expressed goal at this stage is to attempt to test himself
at the dojo as he tries to work towards securing work with New
Japan Pro Wrestling in the future. The story broke on the US
version of the New Japan website earlier this week.
It appears that as well as training, Mikey has the NWA British
Commonwealth Heavyweight championship in his sights. It is
currently held by Karl ‘Machine Gun’ Anderson who defeated
Ireland’s Fergal Devitt, who is currently one of the hottest
prospects in all of professional wrestling.
It was his reign with this championship that first got him
noticed by New Japan officials and he is currently wrestling in
Japan against the likes of Koji Kanemoto, Jado, Gedo, the IWGP
light heavyweight champion Tiger Mask 4 & El Samurai.
We hope to see you all at Evolution, as this may be Mikey’s last
appearance for the company in some time. EPW officials wish
Mikey all the best in his endeavours and hope that he will
return to Explosive Pro Wrestling some time in the near future.
