EPW News & Rumours
12/07/06 - EPW High Stakes

After all the drama of Hell or Highwater, we continue the charge towards this year’s RE-AWAKENING with High Stakes. High Stakes is set to take place at the Venville Rec Centre in Maylands on August 12th 2006.

EPW officials have been hard at work to get some matches signed and have already signed three matches.

Three months ago, the Forefathers made a challenge for High Stakes to a four on four tag team match to the Young Guns of Explosive Pro Wrestling. But the match will be fought under unique rules.

The match has been dubbed an ‘ALL FOR ONE’ tag team match. Each team will have four members and will nominate a captain. The match will be fought with a 30 minute time limit under Iron man rules. The team with the most falls after 30 minutes will win the match. BUT, if the team captain is pinned or submitted at any stage his team will be eliminated and the match will be over.

With Nate Dooley on holidays and Justin Sane recently being fired by Davis Storm, the Forefathers team has been shrunk to three. Only Davis Storm, Jag and the EPW champion Jimmy Payne remain. Who their fourth partner will be remains to be seen but we believe it will be Brad West who was responsible for Justin being kicked out of the Forefathers.

EPW officials have named three of the four Young Guns to participate in the match. The Awe Inspiring Shane Haste, former EPW tag team champion, Chris J Lazareth and AZ Vegara are the three be nominated by EPW officials thus far. The final member is yet to be named but many of the Young Guns are putting their hand up for the job.

Speaking of young wrestlers making an impact, Michael Morleone certainly made an impression on FN Carnage on the weekend. His disrespectful attack on Carnage infuriated the former EPW champion and he has demanded, and received, a match with the European Union member.

And Carnage’s young protégé, Tommy Cartel will go one on one with newcomer Marcius Pitt. This will be a tough debut on the main stage for Pitt as he takes on a young man on a roll in EPW.

We also have been told that the final two spots in the Invitational tournament will be decided at High Stakes.
