Evolution is a yearly tradition for
Explosive Pro Wrestling and this year may be the biggest yet.
The two night event will celebrate its 6th birthday this year
and we hope that all fans of EPW will be there for what should
be a tremendous weekend of wrestling action.
On May 4th & 5th, the Venville Rec Centre will be transformed
into a battle field where bodies will be broken and dreams will
be crushed.
The main event of Night 2 will see Jimmy Payne defend the EPW
championship against Bobby Marshall in the very first LADDER
MATCH to be held on Western Australian soil. As many of you
would remember, Bobby almost took the title from Jimmy at
RE-AWAKENING V last November and this will be his long awaited
rematch for the gold.
For the first time in EPW history, the Invitational Tournament
has come to Evolution. This is the longest running tournament in
Australian wrestling history and is a stepping stone to
greatness here in EPW. Five of the six winners have gone on to
taste EPW gold with four of them taking home the EPW
championship.
The semi finals of the Invitational will take place on the
Friday Night with the ‘Awe Inspiring’ Shane Haste taking on the
‘New Sensation’ AZ Vegara. The other semi final will see a
grudge rematch almost three years in the making. Spike Steele
and Richter will go one on one with the winner taking his place
in the final on Night 2.
The rest of the Night 1 looks set to be just as action packed.
With the tag team titles set to be defended on Night 2, a
Gauntlet Match will be held on Night 1 to determine the
challengers. The teams signed for this match will be, the
European Union, T’EMO, FN Carnage & Chris J Lazareth and the
team of Chris Vice & Devlin Reeves.
Reeves could be set for a busy night as he is also scheduled to
tackle the ‘All Star’ Brad West in one on one competition. With
Jack Burbank back in time for Evolution, Brad may rue the day he
had Jack suspended from EPW.
Damien Slater will return to EPW after a recent trip to the
United States. He will have a tough ask ahead of him as he
tackles not one, but three men at Evolution. Also in this four
way, will be Jamie Jurah, Ferguson Block and the irrepressible
‘International Wrestling Superhero’ Mikey Nicholls.
So as we have mentioned, it looks like an action packed weekend
of wrestling action. You can get your tickets at a special price
by ordering both nights together from
Ticketmaster.com.
With two nights of excitement for $30 you can not afford to miss
this two night spectacular. Stay tuned for more announcements as
the day draws closer.
