As you may have already heard,
Perth wrestling is set to explode back onto television with
Monday Night Wrestling.
Monday Night Wrestling will feature the best wrestlers from
Western Australia and abroad as we bring you the hottest
wrestling action involving Perth’s best.
The director of Monday Night Wrestling, Rick Sanders, explained
that the format would change over the course of the first
season.
“We have signed on for an initial season of 13 episodes with
Access 31,” said Sanders. “The first six episodes will cover
some of the best matches from 2007 to give newcomers to Perth
wrestling an introduction to the sort of action that they can
come to expect from Monday Night Wrestling.”
“After the first 5 - 6 weeks, we will be commencing the filming
of regular tapings specifically for broadcast on 31. The shows
will focus more on the in ring action with a ‘less talk – more
action’ approach being taken.”
Sanders also revealed that some episodes of Monday Night
Wrestling may be used to recap some of the live events of 2008
or to highlight classic moments in Perth wrestling.
“2008 will be an exciting time for fans in Perth as EPW & Monday
Night Wrestling combine to give them the biggest year of locally
produced wrestling in decades.”
Monday Night Wrestling commences its first season on January
14th at 9pm on Access 31.
