Explosive Pro Wrestling returns for
2008 with a bang as our very first 'Roadshow' delivers the same
brand of high-flying, hard-hitting wrestling that has made this
company one of the best in the country. Roadshows are a chance
for EPW to bring professional wrestling to other areas of Perth
and Western Australia with this January 19th spectacular coming
to you from the Craigie Leisure Centre, on Whitfords Avenue in
Craigie.
After a successful defense of his
coveted EPW title at Re-Awakening against Bobby Marshall, Shane
Haste has a somewhat easier night at the Roadshow. His opponent
in this non title match up will be the small-statured Englishman
Jonny Wimbledon. On paper, this match looks to be an extremely
lop-sided affair. Actually, this match kinda looks lop-sided no
matter how you look at it.
And speaking of lop-sided matchups,
things couldn't get any worse for Shane Haste's rookie protege
Alex 'The Kid' Kingston. He will be facing up to the biggest
bully in the west, Jimmy Payne. Jimmy has been training
intensely for his NWA Australian Title challenge in February at
Goldrush and that does not bode well for Kingston.
The #1 contenders for the Fighting
Hellfish's EPW Tag Team Titles will also be decided at this
first Roadshow. We should witness an action-packed three way
between the hated duo of Azazal and Ferguson Block, the equally
despised European Union and the new kids on the block,Dan Moore
and Chase. After the death-defying tables match at Re-Awakening,
it's surely going to require plenty of desire and intensity for
a team to be declared the victors in this bout.
And finally, how could we resist
giving fans another chance to cheer on their hometown hero? NWA
Australian Champion, Mikey Nicholls, steps into the ring for
Roadshow action with the maniac, Chris Vice. Nicholls has been
riding the wave of stardom after clinching gold at Challenge
Stadium and Chris Vice knows a win here in this non-title match
surely puts him in contention for a shot at the belt in 2008.
These matches join an already
announced 'Lucky Losers' Main event featuring Bobby Marshall,
Devlin Reeves and Davis Storm. With the winner in this encounter
securing for themselves a guaranteed title shot in 2008, all
three men will be desperate for the win.
With over two months since your
last wrestling fix, you wrestling addicts make sure you make it
down to the Craigie Leisure Centre for 2008's first Roadshow.
Tickets are available at the venue (Craigie Leisure Centre)
right now and even on the night of the show at the door or you
can purchase them online by clicking
here.
This should be a great show so let's get 2008 off to a big
start.
