It’s the announcement that many of
you saw coming but didn’t dare bet the house on.
EPW officials sent this announcement to us at EPWPERTH.COM
earlier this week.
“For the past seven years, Explosive Pro Wrestling has
attempted to usher in a new era of professional wrestling, not
just in Perth, but within the Australian wrestling community.
Through commitment, passion & plenty of hard work, Explosive
Coastal Wrestling went from being the bastard red headed step
child of Australian wrestling to being a credible, professional
& trailblazing leader.
This leap would have never been possible without the
contributions of Nate Dooley & Jimmy Payne.
These two men have given their time, their bodies and, indeed,
their lives to help professional wrestling breathe a second
breath after it laid dormant in WA for almost 20 years.
Almost five years ago, EPW experienced it’s most emotional night
as these two men took part in a six man street fight that is now
a part of Perth wrestling folklore.
The only way that EPW could truly give these men a fitting
farewell, is to allow them the chance to recreate their greatest
moment on July 5th.
Hell or Highwater will provide the backdrop for Jimmy & Nate’s
farewell.
And the main event will be a six man street fight.”
As someone who has been involved with Explosive Pro Wrestling
since day one, just typing these words gives me a chill down my
spine.
To add more intrigue to the match, Bobby Marshall recently
contacted Brett Corvus to let him know that AZ Vegara had not
recovered from being chokeslammed through a table by Richter &
would not be able to take part in the match on July 5th. Corvus
has promised Marshall a more than competent replacement for the
match.
More than any other event this year, you can not afford to miss
this show.
Can Nate Dooley & Jimmy Payne receive the fairytale ending they
seek?
Or will Bobby Marshall continue to build his legacy by ruining
what should be the most emotional night in EPW history?
