EPW tonight has received news that
a severe injury will keep Adam Banks out of the RISING
STAR CUP tomorrow night at
WA vs VIC.
Banks burst onto the EPW landscape at
BREAKING POINT. Despite not picking up a win in his
first match, Adam showed plenty of fight and spirit as he took
it up to the experienced duo of Brad West and Vin
Penhero. Then at the
Malaga Markets just two short weeks ago, he battled Tyler
Jacobs in his first singles outing in EPW. He displayed a
confidence and coolness about his performance that defied his
relative lack of experience.

Davis Storm was in the crowd
during that match at Malaga and was blown away by the rookie’s
composure. “To get in the ring with someone like Tyler Jacobs
can be an unnerving occasion for anyone,” the Ironman said. “He
knows exactly how to intimidate an opponent to the point where
they are pretty much beaten before the bell even rings. Adam’s
composure in such a big match was amazing. He looked like he
believed he could not just compete, but actually win.”
Banks injured his right knee while preparing for the RISING STAR
CUP this week.
“I’ve been pushing it pretty hard for a while now,” a somber
Banks said from his hospital bed in Joondalup. “Getting to debut
took a lot of hard work and physical punishment but I wasn’t
content just getting to EPW. I wasn’t going to make up the
numbers in the Cup on Saturday. I wanted to go there and really
give it a shake.”
He will now undergo an operation to correct a dislocated patella
which has caused other issues within the knee. Despite the set
back he is as determined as ever to get back to the ring.
“I didn’t do all this hard work just to throw it away. I’m not
done by a long shot.”
“It’s a terrible shame but he’ll live to fight another day,”
Storm said. “I know everyone in the locker room will be behind
him 100% with his rehabilitation. He is a super tough kid who
has already shown the will and toughness that is required to
make it in EPW. It is a setback no doubt, but with his heart,
you can guarantee that he’ll be back.”
EPW wishes Adam Banks all the best with his recovery and hope we
see him back in the ring in the near future. Fans wishing to
leave Adam well wishes can do so at
EPW’s
Facebook (search: Explosive Professional Wrestling) page.
