With
the ink on the contracts barely dry, we can announce
that Jamie Jurah and Slick Rick Sanders have now
officially rejoined the EPW roster.
At Kristmas Kaos last December, Jamie Jurah shocked
all involved in EPW by returning to the ring and
defeating former EPW champion, Bobby Marshall. Most
people who knew Jamie thought that he was done with
wrestling after walking away from EPW in late 2008.
After leaving EPW, Jamie finally received the back
surgery that he had needed for many years.
“Wrestling had worn him down physically and
mentally,” current EPW champion Davi Storm noted.
“His closest friends had told me that he was
miserable. Jamie had given his body to EPW for many
years and his quality of life was suffering because
of it.”
With his surgery a great success, Jamie was able to
enjoy life away from the ring and focus on the many
other goals he had. But while surgery allowed him to
live a normal healthy life, Jamie was warned that a
return to the ring could mean permanent pain and
suffering.
After a lengthy break from EPW events, Jurah felt
that he was keen to return and get a look at how the
product had evolved since he had left. What he found
instead was a fired up Bobby Marshall.
Marshall verbally abused Jurah repeatedly, leaving
no insult unspoken in a search for the raw nerve
that would spark Jamie into action. He found it in
the EPW championship.
“Jamie was a valued member of the EPW roster for
over five years but he never won the big one,” EPW
commentator Lukey said. “In fact, despite being one
of the best performers in EPW, I doubt most people
even considered him a serious threat to the
championship.”
His win over Marshall proved that Jamie has not only
rekindled the fire within. It had grown into a full
blown inferno.
The return of Slick Rick Sanders sees the picture
complete for Jurah as he begins his journey towards
the holy grail. The EPW championship.
“While Jamie had a lot of natural talent, it was
Rick’s guidance that made Jamie as dangerous as he
was,” said former partner Tyler Jacobs. “Both myself
and Jamie were never as successful without Rick in
our corner. ‘Manager of champions’ isn’t a catchy
nickname for Rick. It’s just a matter of fact.”
Sanders led the most successful stable in EPW
history, the Brat Pack. They held the EPW
championship, EPW tag team titles and the
Invitational tournament trophy concurrently. Rick
also took Devlin Reeves from being an opening match
joke and transformed him into a man capable of
winning the 2006 Invitational Tournament.
Rick is used to managing champions and you can rest
assured that he will not waste any time in getting
Jurah in line for a shot at the gold. Their journey
begins on February 21st at AFTERSHOCK. And it leads
to the EPW championship.
