08/04/09 - TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT set for BATTLE FOR SUPREMACY

With the Board finally making a very tough decision regarding the EPW championship, they have now been able to focus their energy on BATTLE FOR SUPREMACY which is taking place on April 18.

We already know that the show will be built around a four team tournament that is being held to decide who will face the new EPW tag team champions, the Blitz Team, at EVOLUTION night one. Not only will the winners of the tournament get a chance to win the EPW tag team titles, they will also be a part of history, as the match will be the very first TAG TEAM LADDER MATCH, in EPW history.

The former champions, Dan Moore and Chase Griffin, were the first to throw their names into the ring to be a part of this tournament. They sacrificed any further rematches in order to be able to secure a spot in this tournament.

The head of the Board of Directors, Brett Corvus, announced the other three teams in a video address to the fans of Explosive Pro Wrestling.

Those teams are: Team All Star, Michael Morleone and Jose Del Santo, and the ‘Ironman’ Davis Storm and JT.

The brackets have been set and we are in for a cracking first round.

Michael Morleone and Jose Del Santo have been having more than a few problems with Team All Star over the past few shows. They will get their chance for revenge at Battle for Supremacy as they face off against the All Stars in the first round.

And that leaves us with what should be a highly competitive first round encounter as Storm and JT battle Moore and Griffin. Storm will be fired up after losing the EPW championship at GOLDRUSH. But likewise, Moore and Griffin will be desperate to get back in the hunt for the belts that they held for almost a year.

The winners of these two matches will then wrestle each other at night’s end to decide who will go onto EVOLUTION and face the Blitz Team in a TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP LADDER MATCH.

Tickets are available right now so don’t miss out on all the action on April 18th at the Venville Centre in Maylands.
