15/07/09 - MAIN EVENT For BREAKING POINT Announced!

BREAKING POINT

After the events of Hell or Highwater, BREAKING POINT, will see the situation surrounding the EPW championship cleared up.

The finish of the EPW championship match was steeped in controversy. The end of the match saw EPW’s two head officials, Giles O’Brien and Matt Smarkson, in a heated discussion regarding the winner of the match.

Smarkson counted the pinfall for Bobby Marshall after earlier being knocked unconscious by Rick Sanders. Despite all the interference from both members of the Blackest Hour, O’Brien witnessed Marshall drill Richter with a chair prior to hitting him with the match winning scissor kick.

After making Smarkson aware of this situation, both men agreed that the only course to take was to disqualify Marshall and award the match to Richter.

EPW officials were last night engaged in a long meeting to discuss their next course of action regarding the EPW championship and whether Marshall would be suspended for attacking O’Brien.

Due to the extenuating circumstances, Marshall was given a six month suspension but instead of serving it immediately, he will be placed on good behaviour bond. Provided he does not intentionally strike another referee in the next six months, he will not have to serve the suspension.

As Bobby was disqualified in his title match, we currently have no #1 contender to Richter’s EPW championship. EPW officials decided that in their opinion, both Bobby Marshall and Jamie Jurah did not receive fair shots at the title in their matches with Richter for the EPW championship.

Thus at BREAKING POINT, they will face off to determine the #1 contender to the EPW championship. After facing each other in a classic match last December, they will now do battle for far more than pride, as a shot at the championship they both desire is on the line.

BREAKING POINT will take place on August 8th at the Queens Park Rec Centre. More news regarding this huge show will soon be available..

Tickets to BREAKING POINT are available now by filling out our ticket order form or by calling 0409 373 937.
