After a successful trip to Melbourne on the weekend, Shane
Haste was flying high. But he returned to Perth to receive
some shocking news from his long term stable mate, Kiel
Steria.
“I’m done with the Blitz Team,” Steria said earlier today when
we rang him for comment. “Shane seems to busy with his own
affairs and success to show any concern for anyone else’s
career. And when he does show any interest, it certainly isn’t
in my direction.”
Last year saw Steria appear to be the third wheel in the
Blitz Team as Shane Haste and Alex Kingston went on
to capture the EPW tag team titles together.
RE-AWAKENING 8
was the final straw.
“Shane gets the main event and Kingston and Banks get the shot
at the #1 contendership,” Steria quipped. “Surely as the second
most senior man in the group, I should’ve been leading Kingston
into battle. Adam was coming off a serious knee injury and I was
returning from America where I managed to get myself into the
best shape of my career. It didn’t make any sense.”
Steria said he wants to make it clear that he does not want bad
blood with his former mates or the fans but that he simply
needed to make a change to further his own career.
“I’m looking out for myself now. I wanna show everyone in EPW
that I do not deserve to be overlooked. It starts this Saturday
with Adam Banks. I don’t want to hurt him but I do want
to beat him. I’m going to show him what he could achieve if he
left the Blitz Team like I am. It’s not personal. It’s strictly
business.”
It sounds like Steria has a brand new attitude and is ready to
unleash it this Saturday at the Cyril Jackson Rec Centre.
