“I first met Damian Slater in Adelaide in late 2004. He was a
fairly quietly spoken kid but from the moment I met him, I could
see the drive and determination in his eyes. It was pretty clear
that this guy was going to make something of himself.
He made his first trip to Perth in 2005 and was already showing
great strides and improvement as a wrestler. Over the past five
years, I, along with everyone else in EPW, have watched Damian
Slater become largely recognised as the best wrestler in
Australia today.
He has proven himself in every part of the country and is
tireless in his pursuit for perfection. And for that, I applaud
him.
But he is starting to earn himself a reputation for having a
mouth as big as his biceps.
Slater, I am now entering my ninth year as a professional
wrestler. Over that time, I have built a reputation for myself,
not by being a braggart, but by living professional wrestling
every day of my life. A lot of people say it but have no idea
what it actually means.
I’m not the biggest. I’m not the fastest and I’m certainly not
the strongest. Never have been and never will be. But I give my
heart every time I step foot in that EPW ring. That means I am
willing to stand and fight for as long as I need to in order to
achieve victory.
Come Saturday night, I won’t be running and I won’t be hiding.
You may very well be the best wrestler in Australian right now
but I can beat you. You are in for a gut check at
Rise or Fall
the likes of which you’ve never faced in your career.
You say you’re at your best. You better be. Because this
Saturday, the talking stops and the fighting starts. We’re going
to see if you really are the man….GoldenBOY”.
