For the past 18 months, tag team wrestling has taken centre
stage in Explosive Pro Wrestling.
And it will once again as a battle for the tag team titles
headlines the second biggest show on the EPW calendar, EVOLUTION.
Saturday May 29th, the Queens Park Rec Centre will
see the current champions, Shane Haste and Mikey
Nicholls, faced with the toughest defence of their seven
month reign as they tackle the team of AZ Vegara and
Damian Slater. Slater and AZ are looking to get their first
taste of gold in Explosive Pro Wrestling and will pull out all
the stops as they look to become EPW tag team champions.
Former best friends will finally go to war after six months of
tension, as Nate Dooley will attempt to end the career of
Jimmy Payne. Dooley blames Jimmy for a
serious hand injury he suffered in October 2009 and has been
relentlessly pursuing his former friend ever since. Nate has
been near psychotic as he has hurt anyone who happened to be
unlucky enough to stumble into his path of blind rage. His
obsession was rewarded by the EPW Board of Directors who are
hoping that a chance to settle their differences in the ring
will finally temper Nate’s ire. Will Jimmy show up ready to
fight? Or will he continue his insistence to not fight his best
friend and possibly face being fired?
The war between the Blackest Hour and Team All Star
will continue on night two as they face off in a six man tag
team grudge match. Depending on how results fall in the #1
contenders Gauntlet Match on night 1, Sebastian Sander or
Richter could be faced with double duty on night two.
With a furious hatred developing for each other, neither would
miss the opportunity to face the other in this match which could
easily break down into absolute anarchy.
The second Invitational Tournament Qualifier will take
place as South Australia’s Elliot Sexton and Dan Moore
will take on the ‘lucky loser’ from the Gauntlet Match on Night
One of EVOLUTION in a three way dance. This means that these two
men will be faced with either Tyler Jacobs, Sebastian
Sander, Richter, Bobby Marshall or Jay
Taylor. Whoever they get, they will certainly have their
work cut out for them.
A shot at the EPW tag team titles will go on the line as three
teams square off for tag team supremacy. Chris Vice and
Jonathon Wimbledon will go head to head with the
Brothers Schmidt and the team of Alex Kingston and
Adam Banks. Who will claim the opportunity to get a shot at
the gold?
And we have also been informed that Chase Griffin will be
faced with a defence of his newly won Hardcore Shield. We
have no information on what match will take place or who will be
in it but we do know that the ‘Kamikaze Kid’ will have his work
cut out for him at EVOLUTION 2010.
Both nights of EVOLUTION
are looking like being incredible and you will not want to miss
a second of the action.
