It was one year ago, at Evolution night
1, 2009, that The Blackest Hour came into
existence. Rick Sanders aligned himself with Richter
and with the help of Devlin Reeves they installed the
6”5’ giant as the new EPW Champion.
Since then their numbers have grown, including the man once
known as Jose Del Santo, reborn into darkness as
Adrian Priest, and another giant of a man in Dorian,
the group’s body guard. As they have bolstered their ranks their
impact over EPW has also increased, as these dangerous and
deranged men have left a trail destruction and blood everywhere
they have gone.
With Richter as Champion for the best part of the last 12
months, everything seemed to be going according to plan.
Together as a unit they had turned back numerous challengers for
the title including removing Bobby Marshall from
competitive action twice. Once through suspension, and the other
through a horrific injury involving Richter, a power bomb, and a
table.
However there has been one constant thorn in the group’s side
for the last 6 months. Team Allstar always seem to be in
the wrong place at the right time to stagger TBH’s momentum and
raise the ire of the perhaps the most dominant faction in recent
history. The rival groups have traded victories across singles
and tag competition as well as all out brawls.
All of these confrontations came to a head last month at Goldrush III
with massive implications. Just as it seemed the numbers game
had caught up with Jamie Jurah in his title match against
Richter, Team Allstar rushed the ring, evening the score and
leaving Jurah to pick up the win, and walk away with his first
EPW Championship.
Furious over the interference, The Blackest Hour are out to
exact revenge this weekend at Evolution. Night one sees Devlin
Reeves represent TBH against Team Allstar’s ‘The Don’ Michael
Morleone. On night 2 each team will select three members each to
go to war in a 6 man tag match which is sure to spiral out of
control.
It’s a case of the old guard meeting the defiant young talent,
who want to send a message that they won’t be pushed around. In
fact team Captain Sebastian Sander has proved that he may the
one man in the EPW locker room that can push former 2 time
champion Richter back.
That may be exactly what we see with both men in the number one
contenders gauntlet match on night one. If the two biggest men
in EPW square off in the middle of the ring the Morley Rec
Centre may not be able to contain them.
One way or another, this feud is far from over, with TBH making
it known that there sole purpose now is destroy Team Allstar,
once and for all.
