With the emotional scenes from
Hell or Highwater still fresh in our minds, it is already
time to move onto Explosive Pro Wrestling’s next big event,
TELETHON BASH.
Thanks to our great sponsors from the City of Bassendean, the
Cyril Jackson Rec Centre will play host to this great
fundraising venture on Saturday September 17th.
While we have a new EPW champion in
the ‘Golden Greek’ Marcius Pitt, we have no immediate #1
contender. EPW officials have come up with an interesting
concept to decide who will be first to face Pitt for the gold.
Two tag teams will face each other
on September 17th with the winning team squaring off at night’s
end to determine the new #1 contender to the EPW Championship.
The really interesting part is the make up of the two teams.
TMDK, Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste have had
their fair share of issues since returning from Japan in May.
But they will be forced to put those differences aside if they
hope for either of them to get a shot at the strap. But so will
their opponents. Team All Star and the Entourage
have been at war for months but if Sebastian Sander and
Kiel Steria hold any ambition of becoming the EPW
Champion, they will have to find a way to co-exist and defeat
TMDK.
The EPW Tag Team Titles will be on
the line as the champions, Jay Taylor and AZ Vegara,
are set to take on the current #1 contenders to their belts,
the Schmidts. After being dumped from Team Jurah at
Hell or Highwater, Gorgeous Garry and Bruiser Barry
are more motivated than ever and believe that the champs are
ripe for the picking after they lost to Dan Moore and
Chase Griffin last month.
The EPW Invitational Tournament
is rolling around for another year and qualifying will start
with the three way dance at the TELETHON BASH. Chris Vice,
Alex Kingston and Carlo ‘Cash Money’ Cannon all
realise what winning the Invitational could mean for their
career trajectory in EPW. Who will book their place in the semi
finals at RE-AWAKENING X?
Speaking of trophies, the EPW
Rising Star Cup will take place as seven of our youngest and
brightest prospects take part in a gauntlet match.
Brett Foxx, Hayden Zenith, Leo Pratt, Ryan
Dangerfield, Dorian, Eddy Bombay and the
debuting Scotty Ryan. A gauntlet match stacks the odds
strongly against the men who have to compete first but the
Rising Star Cup is about winning when it matters most. Who will
walk away as EPW’s Rising Star for 2011?
And finally, after months of being
attacked by the Blackest Hour, Adam Banks will
finally get a chance for revenge as he gets Adrian Priest
one on one at the TELETHON BASH. Can Banks take down the
psychopath from the Blackest Hour?
Just a reminder that ALL profits
from the show go towards Telethon 2011 so make sure you get your
tickets now, and bring along a few extra bucks as we attempt to
beat the $3500 we raised last year.
Tickets are available right now by
